Margolis begins term as ARVO president. Donald Hood and Barry Winkler will serve as vice presidents, while Nicholas Delamere has been named president-elect for 2009-2010. Paul Sternberg is vice president-elect for that term. Read more.
ARVO members Geisler and Movshon elected to National Academy of Sciences in recognition of their achievements in research. Read more.
Apply by June 4 for DOD's Peer Reviewed Medical Research Program. The Department of Defense is accepting pre-applications for its FY08 Peer Reviewed Medical Research Program (PRMRP) through June 4, with a proposal deadline of July 2. Read more.
