Inadvertent bias: Tackling Equity and Diversity in Human Trials and Clinical Research

Audience: ARVO members, specifically basic and clinical researchers who would like to explore the professional and personal biases that are faced globally in the scientific and clinical arena.

Summary: The ARVO ERHR (Ethics and Regulation in Human Research) Committee strives to educate our eye and vision colleagues on how to manage ophthalmic research and clinical development in an ethical manner with an eye towards recognizing and promoting an environment of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI). This program will encourage and foster a dialogue around ERHR and DEI as it applies to what we, as ARVO members, need to think about. 

Attendees of this webinar will learn how to:

  • Manage ophthalmic research and clinical development in an ethical manner with an eye towards recognizing and promoting an environment of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.
  • Foster dialogue around ERHR and DEI as ARVO members. 

This webinar is hosted by ARVO's Ethics and Regulations in Human Research Committee. A certificate of attendance will be available to attendees upon request (email education@arvo.org).
