ARVO Executive Vice President – 2021 elections are now closed

A member of the Board of Trustees, the Executive Vice President (EVP) serves as ARVO’s chief executive and administrative officer — the primary point of contact between the Board and ARVO staff for all operational activities. The EVP also serves as chair of the ARVO Annual Meeting Program Committee (AMPC) and ex officio of all other committees of ARVO (except the Finance Committee). The ideal candidate should be an ARVO member, have strong leadership skills, experience managing budgets, previous ARVO service, and a desire to lead and guide the direction of ARVO's future. Journals Editor-in-Chief (EIC) –2021 elections are now closed

Nominations now being accepted for the Editor-in-Chief (EIC) position for each ARVO Journal — Investigative Ophthalmology & Visual Science (IOVS), Journal of Vision (JOV) and Translational Vision Science & Technology (TVST). EICs are responsible for oversight and adherence to ARVO's policies and procedures, including acceptance and rejection of articles for publication in the journals and for the appointment of the Editorial Boards. Ideal candidates must be ARVO members, have served on the Editorial Board of the journal of application and have at least three years of experience. Learn more

Annual Meeting Program Committee (AMPC) –The 2022 AMPC elections are now closed (view results)

Under the direction of the ARVO Executive Vice President, the Annual Meeting Program Committee (AMPC) selects the content for the scientific portion of the ARVO Annual Meeting. AMPC members serve a three- or four-year term and chair their AMPC section or group in the final year of service. NOTE: AMPC committee members may not be owners or employees of ACCME-defined ineligible companies. Comprised of elected members from ARVO's Scientific Sections, the Board of Trustees sets the strategic direction for ARVO and has the final responsibility and authority for all actions and policies that are recommended or adopted by standing and special committees, advisory councils and representatives to professional and governmental organizations, agents and employees.
