Alcon International Chapter Affiliates Matching Grants

The ARVO International Chapter Affiliate Program fosters the growth of eye and vision research worldwide by supporting 13 chapters. Each chapter receives $2,000 in financial support annually: $1,000 from ARVO and $1,000 in matching funds through the ARVO Foundation’s International Chapter Matching Grants program. These matching funds are made possible through the support of the Alcon Foundation.

In 2016, the ARVO International Chapter Affiliates used their funds for a variety of capacity-building and educational initiatives:

AARVO (Austria)
Support of a joint meeting with the Danish Ophthalmological Society and one travel grant

AIVO (Argentina)
Support of a guest lecturer at the AIVO annual meeting and one travel grant

ARVO-EGYPT (Egypt)
Support of logistics and advertising for the ARVO-EGYPT annual meeting and two travel grants

ARVO-INDIA (India)
Support of a guest lecturer at ARVO-India annual meeting and one travel grant

ARVO-NED (Netherlands)
Support of an educational symposium for PhD students and postdoctoral fellows and two travel grants

BRAVO (Brazil)
Support of a guest lecturer at the BRAVO annual meeting and one travel grant

CARVO (Columbia)
Support of a guest lecturer at the CARVO annual meeting, the development of an online session and one travel grant

CCRVO (China)
Support of a guest lecturer at the CCRVO annual meeting and support of seven travel grants

HARVO (Hungary)
Support of a guest lecturer at the HARVO annual meeting, enhancing the HARVO website and two travel grants

ISVER (Israel)
Support of enhancing the ISVER website and one travel grant

IT-ARVO (Italy)
Support of a guest lecturer at the IT-ARVO annual meeting and one travel grant

MARVO (Mexico)
Support of paper presentations at the MARVO annual meeting and one travel grant

SEE-ARVO (South-Eastern Europe)
